It is also necessary for a broker to have right trading psychology especially at the time of uncertainties or recession in the markets.   • The first step involved in selecting a broker is to start searching for the broker. Searching should be started taking in to consideration the reputation and registration of the broker in the field. A highly reputed broker having got registration from the agencies such as, National Futures Association (NFA), Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), or Financial Service authority (FSA) is more preferable.
  • It is important to check for the spread of the broker. Since a broker with high spread may cost the trader more than the broker with low spread.
  • The brokers having low account balance are not preferable.
  • After shortlisting the broker, look for the trading packages offered by him. A service oriented broker will offer trading packages to the trader, which consists of technical indicators to help the trader in developing strategies for trading. Apart from these, they also contain news regarding immediate developments in the market, economic forecasts, simple and important statistics having economic data, etc.
  • It is very important to know the leverage of the broker before finalizing one. Since high leverages are risky, it is better to opt for brokers giving low leverages.
