Protection against risk through Insurance

Insurance is a form of risk management primarily used to protect against risk of a contingent loss. We have many types of insurance like life insurance, health insurance, auto insurance, property insurance, Liability insurance etc. Common benefit for all insurances is exemption for tax.

Protection of different insurances:
If you take any insurance, its primary use is to give financial support against loss/damaged/theft.

  • Life Insurance: This insurance provides the income to insured person's family in case of death only. Life insurance also contains many type of insurances. In simple words, provides financial protection to beneficiaries usually spouses and dependent children upon the death of the insured person.
  • Health insurance: This insurance provides cost of medical treatments resulting from accidents and illness.
  • Auto Insurance: This insurance protects you against financial loss if you have an accident. Auto Insurance is also known as vehicle insurance.
  • Property insurance: This insurance provides protection against risk to property resulting from fire, theft, and damage due to natural calamities.
  • Liability insurance: This insurance provides protection to policyholders from financial responsibility for injuries to others or for damage to other people’s property.
No one can afford all the insurances so you should select the insurance which you really need and protects you and your family. Most of the people do not understand the importance of insurance. The wealthiest person do not need insurance as he has already financial support but who are not wealthy they must have insurance to get financial support.

What are Interpersonal Skills?

Interpersonal skills are the skills that a person uses to communicate effectively with other people either individually or in groups. These skills not only include how we communicate with others but also confidence, ability to listen and ability to understand.

Good interpersonal skills can improve many aspects in your life. Everyone need to improve interpersonal skills as the persons having good interpersonal skills are successful in both personal and professional lives.

Active listening also comes under interpersonal skill. A person who pays full attention to the speaker not only communicates well but also respects others. Good interpersonal skills reduce stress, increase understanding and increase communication.

Interpersonal skills help people deal with others. Communication skills, anger management skills, assertiveness skills, conflict resolution skills all these comes under interpersonal skills.

Interpersonal skills help the person do team work to achieve the goals.

Interpersonal skills help the person build confidence.

Effective listening: Communication skills not only includes speaking but also listening effectively.

Questioning: Ask questions yourself and use maximum number of questions which helps to maximize the relevant information.

Assertiveness: It is considered as an important skill to any person as they will have the ability to resolve the conflicts and avoid negative conflicts.
  • Don't feel nervous as it effects the clarity of the message. Just be relax.
  • Show interest on the topic and in the people you talk to. Ask questions and clarify the doubts.

Everyone can develop good interpersonal skills if they practice communicating effectively.

There Is Rise In Marijuana Use In U.S. Teens

The annual survey was conducted on drug use among students in grades 8, 10 and 12 by researchers at the University of Michigan's National Institute on Drug Abuse for the U.S. government.

It revealed that among students in Grade 12, 20.6 per cent said that they used marijuana within the, compared to 19.4 per cent in 2008 and 18.3 per cent in 2006. Among Grade 10 students, the use of marijuana rose to 15.9 percent from 13.8 per cent in 2008. Fewer Grade 8 students said they experienced a "great risk" from frequently smoking marijuana, 44.8 per cent this year, down from 50.5 per cent in 2004.


There is largest decrease in marijuana use in England, Portugal, Switzerland, Slovenia and Canada. Increase in marijuana use is observed in Estonia, Lithuania, Malta, and among Russian girls, according to the Swiss Institute for the Prevention of Alcohol and Drugs Problems in Lausanne. The reasons for decline in marijuana use is due to decline in evenings out with friends and preventions efforts in teens preferences.
